The foundation of this rotten sludge, is the riff worship of bands like Black Sabbath, Sleep and St Vitus, with the influence of Black Flag sitting underneath, to give that nihilistic air, and fog of feedback, that permeates most of Eyehategod’s output. This is the soundtrack to alligator wrestling in a Louisiana swamp, cheered on by a mob of whisky-fuelled reprobates.
Recorded with John Stephens at Chuckalumba, this EP comes in a hand crafted 4-panel gatefold sleeve on black recycled card, screened by VinoSangre, with vinyl-style black CD and a poster insert, and is limited to 150 copies.

Like a frozen howl in the northern wilderness, Durham’s End Reign are truly a force of nature. Eschewing the self aggrandizing hype and backslapping so prevalent in modern hardcore, End Reign do things the old fashioned way, mixing genuine anger with a hard work ethic and dark, honest hardcore songs for a potent brew indeed. This new four song 7” follows their recent split with Kent allies Alaska on FITA Records and sees them more bloody-eyed and frenzied than before. An onlsaught of piledriving Entombed influenced riffing and raw seething vocals, gnawing at the leash to tear out your throat. Often compared to early Rise & fall or Cursed.
A joint release from Fist In The Air, Holy Roar, Hemlock 13 and Witch Hunter Records. 500 copies, 200 black/blue and 300 green. Art and layout by Give Up

Leeds 3 piece, taking influences from the doomy atmospherics of Neurosis, an underbelly of crust care of Amebix, and an air of recklessness favoured by the likes of Eyehategod.
The band create a vibe that is heavy, dark and ambient, with tortured male/female vocals, and a mission to take you to a frightening place.
Recorded with Matt (Pumpkin Records) at Brunswick Mill, Manchester in October 2010, and artwork and layout by Black Uroborus, this CD comes in a 4-panel digipack, and is limited to 150 copies

Year Of The Flood formed in Nottingham in early 2010 from the remnants of 2 well-known Nottingham bands. Hot on the heels of the sold-out debut EP ‘A Utopian View’ is the follow up EP ‘Redefine The Natural Order’
Drawing influences from crust hardcore, doom and down-tempo sludge metal they use their music to paint a bleak picture of a world on the brink of it’s ultimate self-consumption. Heavily inspired by the dystopian literature of author Margaret Atwood, with the overriding themes of violence, greed, consumerism and social selfishness that threaten to overwhelm modern society.

“The Bleak” is more of an alternate reality rather than a U-turn on style for the UK’s riff worshipping Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight. Following their debut album, “Movin On”, comes four acoustic songs covering themes of emptiness, unrest and loneliness. The EP was recorded in a home studio by the band over the early summer of 2010, and is a re-working of a single 20 minute atmospheric sludge piece of music that has yet to see the light of day. Over the top Sabbath worshipping has been replaced with soft vocal passages, subtle chords and the occasional melancholic horn blast. Frontman Pete Holland has put down his usual sweat coated guitar for a ukulele and drummer Chris West is on guitar duties this time round.
This EP is limited to 100 copies, and comes in a recycled sleeve complete with lyric insert, with artwork by Chris West, or can be downloaded for whatever price you want. It is also available from iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and the usual digital outlets.

This is epic D-Beat/Hardcore based loosely on the books of Margaret Atwood and Aldous Huxley. We’re spreading the word that the human race is bringing our downfall with its arrogance…. the waterless flood is coming.
Featuring ex-members of Jesus of Spazzareth/Bumsnogger/Blood Divided/Dead on a Rival, this sounds like Cursed and Tragedy brawling, with Converge looking on. This 2-track EP is limited to 50 copies, has a fold out drawing by Leon Evans, a scribed CD and a printed lyric insert.

Bumsnogger 2002 – 2006′ the debut release for Witch Hunter Records, is an anthology of both EPs, the split 7″ with Among The Missing and 3 bonus rehearsal out-takes from Nottingham’s dearly departed Bumsnogger.
Hailing from Nottingham, Bumsnogger were conceived in 2002 in a drunken haze, with the sole aim of playing riff frenzied ferocious sludge-metal, whilst having a good time. Tipping their collective hats in tribute to the likes of sludge giants Iron Monkey and Eyehategod, as well as more traditional noise like Black Sabbath and Motorhead.
Their debut 5 track EP ‘…And Destroy All That Come Before Us’ was self-released under their own label, Ape Of Thoth Records, in June 2003, and gained favourable reviews in the national rock press.
A split 7″ with Among The Missing was released in July 2005 on Calculon records and Withered Hand Records to coincide with a UK tour the 2 bands undertook, featuring the track ‘Trampling The Infidels With Hooves Of Hot Iron’. This release was limited to 333 copies, and was pressed on fluorescent pink vinyl.
In October 2006 the band release a 6 track EP ‘Alcohol & Swine’ on Calculon Records.
The band clocked up a hefty amount of shows around the country, with many of their peers, including the likes of High On Fire, Winnebago Deal, Electric Wizard, 16, Cathedral, Orange Goblin, Mistress, 3 Inches Of Blood, Taint and Send More Paramedics.
Just remember, there is more to a band than a name …
BUMSNOGGER 2002 – 2006
