Here’s a bit of an update about what’s happening with the label and bands in the coming months.

Next up is the EP from Tree Of Sores, with 6 tracks of dark and ambient doom, we’re just waiting on artwork from Black Uroborus, and then it’s off to the printers. In the meantime, check out one of the tracks, ‘Sandford’. A 3 week European tour follows in April/May, so please get in touch if you can help with dates.

Following that, will be an EP from dirty sludgers Iron Witch, entitled ‘Single Malt’. Before that drops, they’re busy cutting their teeth gigging, doing a short tour with Rasputin and Hello Dagger, supporting the mighty Kylesa in Manchester, and also playing with the legendary Sally at the Skill Wizard night in London.

Trippy Wicked are working on their next album, and are also heading out on tour in the UK and Europe with Stone Axe and Stubb, so Chris & Pete Wicked will have their work cut out, as they’re also the rhythm section in Stubb.

Year Of The Flood have bagged a couple of slots on the upcoming Latitudes and Hammers tour, so get down early to Nottingham and Cambridge to see them in action. A short UK tour is also in the pipeline for March/April.

Below The Fall finished off last year with some well-received gigs, including a BBC Introducing show and also got radio play. Their track, ‘Commissioner’ was also used on a showreel video by the talented Drew Casson, check it out. A new EP is in the pipeline for release in Spring 2011

Finally, there’s going to be a 1st birthday gig for the label, on Saturday May 7th, at Stuck On A Name Studios in Nottingham, featuring all 5 bands, and bring your own booze, so it’s gonna be party time! Will hopefully get some t-shirts done, and a nice screenprinted poster for the occasion.

Thanks for all the support and kind words in 2010, here’s to a banging 2011!

I’m pleased to announce that Tree Of Sores will be the next release, with a 6 track self-titled EP landing in January 2011. Hailing from Leeds, the trio take influences from doom to crust to post-metal. Heavy, dark and ambient with tortured male/female vocals, and mission to take you to a frightening place.

Listen to or download this exclusive track now from the EP, and stay tuned for pre-orders, and news of a release gig

I’m stoked to announce that Iron Witch are joining the clan, and will have a CD out early next year. As soon as I heard the 2-track demo on their Myspace I was won over by their whisky-soaked sludge, that tips its hat to the likes of Eyehategod, Sleep and Sabbath. Check them out!

Redefine The Natural Order by Year Of The Flood

Year Of The Flood present 4 more tracks of epic d-beat. Hot on the heels of the sold-out debut EP ‘A Utopian View’ is the follow up EP ‘Redefine The Natural Order’. Drawing influences from crust hardcore, doom and down-tempo sludge metal they use their music to paint a bleak picture of a world on the brink of it’s ultimate self-consumption.

Heavily inspired by the dystopian literature of author Margaret Atwood, with the overriding themes of violence, greed, consumerism and social selfishness that threaten to overwhelm modern society.

This EP is limited to 150 copies on CD, and you can buy it here or can be downloaded from Bandcamp right now for whatever price you want (even free). It’s also available from the usual digital outlets such as iTunes, and will soon be on Spotify

It’s available on CD, limited to 100 copies from here or you can Download the EP and pay what you want, including nothing.

In their own words “Yeah that’s right. We’ve clicked off the distortion, laid down the drumsticks and put Dicky on ice for a little while. Pete’s even picked up a ukulele. We were having too much fun with the big riffs on Movin On so we’ve put down these four melancholy acoustic songs. Fear not though, we’ll be back to our chipper selves in no time. If you came here looking for the riffs they’re here.”

The next release, dropping in September, will be from the stoner sleaze rock trio Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight. ‘The Bleak’ is a 15 minute song, split into 4 tracks, this stripped down affair showcases their more melancholic and introspective side, follows on from the stonking self-released debut album ‘Movin On’. Check out their website for more info and to have a listen.

Following on from that will be an acoustic EP from the mighty Stubb. Featuring Jack Dickinson of Loud Howls and Mindzap Productions, and Pete & Chris from Trippy Wicked, these guys worship at the altar of 66 to 73.

Below The Fall CDs are now in stock, check out how great they look. Debut gigs, and a radio session are in the pipeline, so watch out.

Year Of The Flood’s ‘A Utopian View’ is now sold-out of all 50 copies, but you can still download it from Bandcamp and pay as much, or little, as you want. The boys are in the studio again in 2 weeks to record tracks for their next EP, which we hope to release in time for their European tour in September with The End Of History? which includes an appearance in Tilburg, NL at the Incubate festival with some cool bands such as Invasion, Maths, Part Chimp and the legend that is Wino. The band, along with Bumsnogger also feature on a free mix-tape download from the awesome Thee Big Black webzine, check it out here

Bumsnogger 2002 – 2006 has proved to be a popular release, the free download from Bandcamp has clocked up over 200 downloads.
